China's non-Communist parties have condemned United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan as a major political provocation that seriously undermined China's sovereignty and the political foundation of China-US relations, according to a joint statement issued on Thursday.

The statement, issued by the central committees of the eight parties, expressed their strong opposition to and condemnation of Pelosi's visit, saying that it has sent a seriously erroneous message to Taiwan separatist forces.

"There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China," said the statement.

"The People's Republic of China is also the only legal government that can represent all of China, and the Taiwan question is a matter of China's domestic affairs that leaves no room for foreign interference."

The eight parties are the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, the China Democratic League, the China National Democratic Construction Association, the China Association for Promoting Democracy, the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, China Zhi Gong Dang, the Jiu San Society and the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League.

China's non-Communist parties are members of the patriotic united front under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and they fully participate in the administration of State affairs under the leadership of the CPC.

For some time, the US government has made numerous wrong moves regarding the Taiwan question, the statement said. The US has enhanced its official interaction with the island and supported Taiwan separatist forces in an attempt to pressure China.

These actions have severely damaged peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits, they added.

"Pelosi's recent visit to China's Taiwan region is a major political provocation that aims to upgrade the US' official exchanges with the island."

Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party has taken a stubborn pro-secession stance and is colluding with the US to pursue its separatist agenda. "This will only push Taiwan into the abyss of catastrophe and bring calamities to Taiwan compatriots," the statement said.

"We firmly oppose all attempts and actions to split China, any external force interfering in the process of China's peaceful reunification, and any country interfering in the Taiwan question in any way."

The eight non-Communist parties have always facilitated the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations and are staunch supporters of national sovereignty, security and development interests. "We adamantly support all the necessary measures taken by the Chinese government to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement said.

Achieving full reunification is the common aspiration of all Chinese people. The Chinese government and the Chinese people are determined to see the reunification of the motherland. China's inevitable reunification cannot be altered by some hard-line anti-China forces in the US, nor can it be changed by the wishful thinking of Taiwan separatist forces, they said.

"Any attempt to go against the trend of history and try to stop China's full reunification and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is doomed to fail."
