China and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to further strengthen their strategic coordination and build a closer community with a shared future for the two countries.

The pledges were made when State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev in Cholpon-Ata, a city in northern Kyrgyzstan, on Saturday.

China has always viewed Kyrgyzstan as an important partner in its neighborhood diplomacy, Wang said.

He added that China is willing to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as an opportunity to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and further promote the traditional friendship between the two countries.

On his part, Kulubaev said Kyrgyzstan prioritizes its relations with China in its diplomacy and unswervingly supports China's legitimate positions in all key China-related issues.

When meeting the media with Kulubaev, Wang outlined a series of consensuses reached during the talks.

The two sides underlined the need to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level and forge a community with a shared future between the two countries.

Confronting the complicated regional and international challenges, the two sides believe that efforts should be made to accelerate the implementation of China-proposed Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative.

China and Kyrgyzstan agreed to promote stability and development of Central Asia, oppose attempts to create chaos and division in the region and uphold true multilateralism to address global challenges in unity.

The two countries will enhance their strategic coordination and firmly oppose any external forces' interference in their internal affairs.

The two countries have also agreed to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The first batch of Chinese expert teams have arrived in Kyrgyzstan and started the exploration of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Ukraine railway, a strategic project for regional interconnection.

China and Kyrgyzstan will also cultivate new growth points such as ecological agriculture, e-commerce, cross-border payment, and green energy, as well as build a "green Silk Road".

The two sides have also agreed to promote traditional friendship. China will launch a Luban Workshop in Kyrgyzstan at an early date to cultivate more vocational and technical talents, and the two sides will establish cultural centers in each other's country as soon as possible to boost people-to-people connectivity.
