Some netizens commented saying they had someone with ALS in their family

and that watching Zhao's videos gave them comfort.

Because his mother had difficulty speaking, eating and using the restroom, Zhao invited a friend over and also hired a nurse to help during the journey. Sometimes they had to drive for 10 hours through the day, even having their meals in the car.

On the 18th day, they decided to visit the Kanasi Scenic Area, but driving wasn't allowed there. However, on learning of his mother's condition, the area's tourism bureau made an exception for them, even offering guiding services. The move received praise from many Xinjiang netizens.
