Seven people were killed after a shipwreck in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, local authorities said on Monday morning.

The accident occurred at 12:33 pm on Sunday when a sudden downburst generated severe winds, causing a docked recreational fishing boat to capsize at Emerald Bay in the city's Fenghua district. The 16 people on board fell into the waters below.

As of Monday morning, the death toll in the accident had risen to seven when the last missing person was found dead.

According to an announcement posted by the Emerald Bay Fishing Culture Park on Sunday, due to the weather, the park has been temporarily closed and recreational fishing boat services have been suspended.

Visitors who booked the service should cancel their reservations via whatever methods they used, the announcement said.
