Five killed in Shanxi traffic accident

Five people were confirmed dead and six injured after a traffic accident on Thursday morning in Linxian county of Shanxi province, according to a statement released by the county's public security bureau.
The accident occurred on the Shangchengzhuang village section of the G339 national road at 8:57 am when a white sports vehicle hit several pedestrians walking on the roadside.
The injured have been transported to the hospital and none are in critical condition.
The driver has been detained by police and investigation is underway.
