Bus falls into river in Shanghai, no casualties

A bus fell into a river in Shanghai's Pudong district on Tuesday morning, causing no casualties, the district police said.
No passenger was on the bus when the accident happened, and the driver was rescued later and is in stable health condition, according to the police.
Police said the accident happened at the intersection of East Renmin Road and Nanzhu Road around 10:30 am. Police officers and fire fighters rushed to the site after receiving public reports.
Preliminary investigations found that the bus fell into the river by the road after hitting two electronic bicycles. The cyclists were sent to hospital and both are in stable condition.
An elderly woman told police that she was the only passenger on the bus. The driver told her that he felt uncomfortable and asked her to get off the bus in advance. Not long after she left the vehicle, she discovered that the driver went into a coma and the bus slipped into the river.
Police said the cause of the accident is under further investigation.
Many internet users gave their thumbs up for the driver to have let the passenger off the bus in advance.
