An overall plan for Nansha district in Guangdong's provincial capital Guangzhou to deepen comprehensive cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao has been recently issued by the State Council, China's Cabinet.

According to the plan, construction of a scientific and technological innovation industry cooperation base and a youth entrepreneurship and employment cooperation platform between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will be accelerated.

The plan, which aims to build Nansha into an important carrier and strong support for Hong Kong and Macao to better integrate into overall national development, also said construction of a rule convergence mechanism and a high-quality urban development landmark would be facilitated.

Specifically, construction of a scientific and technological innovation industry cooperation base will be accelerated in Nansha, which is already part of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone, to strengthen joint innovation between Guangdong and the two special administrative regions.

Development of high-tech industries, creating a major scientific and technological innovation platform and promotion of international high-end talents will be major tasks for Nansha's future development, according to the plan.

A youth entrepreneurship and employment cooperation platform will also be built in Nansha, to promote youth innovation and improve the level of internship and employment security and strengthen cultural exchange among young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

A high-level opening-up portal will also be built to provide comprehensive support for Chinese enterprises to "go global" and enhance the function of international shipping and logistics.
