Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region covers an area of 1.66 million square kilometers, roughly one-sixth of the total land area of China.

Diverse geographical features, rich ethnic cultures and unique local cuisines have made tourism one of Xinjiang's pillar industries, propelling Xinjiang as an all-season popular destination in China.

Famous scenic spots include Xinjiang Tianshan - a UNESCO world natural heritage site, Tianchi Lake, the Taklimakan Desert, the Mountain of Flames, and the Ghost City in Hami.

Amazing China in 60 Seconds is a short video series covering cultural and scenic hotspots across the country.
