Book of Xi's discourses on rural work published
A book of President Xi Jinping's insights about work related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers has been published and made available nationwide.
The book, compiled by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, contains 61 discourses from December 2012 to April 2022 by Xi, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Some of these discourses are being published for the first time.
In keeping with the topic, the Chinese title of the book translated to English is On the Work of Agriculture, Rural Areas and Farmers.
In China, such matters are seen as fundamental to the country's development and the people's well-being.
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012, the CPC Central Committee, with Xi at the core, has prioritized work related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
Xi's insights reflected in these speeches and writings are important parts of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
It is significant for the whole Party to fully understand the importance and urgency of such work in the new development stage, and make all-out efforts to comprehensively advance rural vitalization and step up the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, Xinhua News Agency reported.
