Students in Qingdao, Shandong province, volunteer to help in their school canteen. Some of the vegetables served were actually planted by the students. They are part of a program launched by education authorities in Qingdao to help young people get accustomed to work and build up their life skills. Various activities, which are thoroughly enjoyed by the students, include cooking, cleaning and growing vegetables. The students are also involved in washing the dishes and cleaning floors.
