As Xiaoman, or grain buds -- the second solar term of summer -- fell on May 21, farmers in Duerji town in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, got busy transplanting their rice seedlings.

In recent years Duerji, a demonstration town in Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner, has been exploring the experience and practices of the industrial integration development model.

It has been comprehensively improving the level of its facilities and equipment related to standardized grain storage, the processing of agriculture and brand creation, as well as embracing the benefits of modern agricultural management.

It is estimated that the total harvest in Duerji in 2022 will yield 27.50 million kilograms, with an output value of more than 77 million yuan ($11.43 million).

So far, more than half the rice has been transplanted and the process is expected to be completed in early June.
