Foreign ambassadors and international partners have extended their messages of congratulation to Georgian citizens on the country’s Independence Day throughout today.
Carl Hartzell, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, said the EU “stood together” with Georgia and “cherished the bonds” with the country.

Long live freedom!” were the words of Ulrik Tideström, the Ambassador of Sweden, who noted his country remained Georgia’s “dedicated friend and supporter” and wished “all of Georgia unity, peace, prosperity, a strong democracy and continued progress on the European integration reforms.”

In his congratulatory tweet, the French Ambassador to Georgia, Diégo Colas, said the recovery of Georgia’s independence in 1921 and then in 1991 had brought the country freedom, calling it a “demanding but exciting road.”
He also posted the letter bearing congratulations of the French President Emmanuel Macron to Georgian citizens.

Andrius Kalindra, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, shared the post of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which said the country “firmly stood behind” Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and “strongly supported” its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
