Thank You For Protecting Us, a six-episode documentary radio play about Chinese people who made great contributions to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, was launched on May 12.

Based on real stories, the radio play opened with the story of Shen Yuehao, a 38-year-old nurse at the ICU of respiratory and critical care medicine department of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital. She is a recipient of the May Fourth Medal, the top honor for young Chinese presented annually before the national Youth Day, which falls on May 4.

In 2020, after the coronavirus pandemic broke out in Wuhan, Hubei province, Shen was among the first group of medical workers working at hospitals as a volunteer.

The radio play series was launched to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China with aims to inspire and encourage young generations.
