Tibetan monk Basang Wangdu fell in love with yoga under the influence of his teacher, and he thinks yoga can contribute to his health.

The sports meet was attended by monks, nuns and school faculty members. Traditional Tibetan sports, such as weightlifting, also became part of the event.

"For the sports meet every year, we think of increasing the number of events in the games, so it will result in higher participation and entertainment," Tashi Gyatsan, deputy head of the college, was quoted as saying.

"Our college will stick to the principle of integrating traditional sutra learning with modern education. We have hosted sports meets for the past four years."
