Boston Scientific launches PCI training project

Medical equipment provider Boston Scientific has kicked off a precise percutaneous coronary intervention project in Beijing to provide local hospitals and clinics with better diagnosis and treatment of the coronary artery disease.
The three-year campaign aims to advance access and skills of precise PCI, a minimally invasive procedure for the disease, in 700 county-level hospitals through online education sessions and some 600 hospitals during on-site training and sharing, the company said in a press release over the weekend.
Answering the call of the National Health Commission, Boston Scientific said it will roll out mini programs dedicated to PCI-related knowledge, policy review, academic development and diagnosis and treatment technologies, and will promote personnel exchange.
The company said it is eyeing the equality and accessibility of treatment and medication for residents in county areas, in line with the commission's goal to establish at least 1,000 county-level hospitals on par with China's highest-grade major hospitals in terms of service level by 2025.
