Plan aims to help disabled find jobs

The State Council, China's Cabinet, has recently released a new action plan to promote employment for people with disabilities, setting a target of creating 1 million new jobs for the disabled over the next two years.
According to the plan, the nation will implement more preferential policies, such as organizing more skills training courses, to help the disabled land jobs.
Companies and administrative departments are encouraged to offer jobs to disabled people, according to the plan, which also stipulates that State-owned enterprises are required to develop postings that are tailored for the group every year.
Additionally, vocational schools are encouraged to develop training courses for the disabled to help them improve their capabilities to make them more competitive in the job market. Such schools should also install more preferential policies to boost recruitment of those with disabilities who are willing to receive vocational education.
The plan said that the nation will step up efforts to establish training centers for the disabled and organize regular competitions for them to improve their working skills.
To better promote employment and create a friendly working environment for them, the nation also plans to organize several activities this year. For example, some role models with disabilities will be invited to give lectures.
Furthermore, promotional campaigns on laws and regulations protecting disabled workers' rights will also be implemented this year.
