Science in focus at week of events

China will celebrate the sixth annual National Science and Technology Workers Day on May 30, with an emphasis on honoring the passion and achievements of scientists, and promoting scientific education to the public, the China Association for Science and Technology said on Wednesday.
This year's theme will focus on innovation, striving for greatness, self-improvement and self-sufficiency in science and technology. The celebration will feature awards, exhibitions and the launch of new education centers around the country.
Starting in early May, there will be a series of national events to showcase the ways science and technology support economic growth. Science volunteers will travel to communities to answer the public's questions regarding healthy diet, mental health, disaster relief and other topics of concern.
The 2022 National Science and Technology Week will also be held from May 21 to May 28, the biggest science popularization event in the country. This year's activities will focus on various cutting-edge fields, including biodiversity conservation, aerospace and carbon technologies.
