Overseas experts share their views on China’s poverty alleviation

China’s poverty alleviation has attracted worldwide attention since the launch of the initiative. At the end of 2020, China officially announced that it had achieved poverty alleviation in an all-round way.

In the book Overseas Experts on China’s Poverty Alleviation, eight foreign scholars expatiate on their views from various perspectives via the field investigation of poverty struck areas in China and the research on China’s poverty alleviation policies. The book provides new ideas for developing nations to seek their own economic development and a valuable reference for the cause of global poverty alleviation.

The English edition of Overseas Experts on China’s Poverty Alleviation was published by Flieder-Verlag GmbH in September 2021, and its Chinese edition was published by Guangming Daily Press of China in December 2021.

Three of the authors in the book, Martin Albrow, fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in United Kingdom, Yury Tavrovsky, professor at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and Stephan Petermann, advisor of Dutch Creative Industries Fund, analyze how China shook off poverty from their unique standpoints.
