Commission session talks women's economic empowerment

Ma Jiayun, Chinese youth representative and a student at BASIS International School Shenzhen, stated she believes according to her observations, women's economic empowerment can be promoted in three aspects – government policy intervention, changes in gender expectations and a system that supports more flexible work arrangements.

Held annually, the Commission on the Status of Women is one of the nine functional commissions of the ECOSOC dedicated to accelerating gender equality worldwide. This current session ends on March 25.
