Thousands of poor migrant workers and their families are packed into the Longwang community in Luyang district of Hefei, Anhui province. It's also where the Hefei Evergreen Social Work Service Center is located.
In a three-story building — in a space provided free by the local government — Zhang Letian, 32, works to help. With donations from across the country, she established an NGO to focus on the welfare and education of the migrant workers' children.
In the latest episode of Girl City, a video series by China Daily focusing on women, Zhang shares her stories about what she is doing, and why.
