Shen Deyong, a member of the standing committee of China's top political advisory body, has been placed under investigation for suspected severe violations of disciplines and law, the country's top anti-corruption watchdog said on Monday.
The investigation of Shen, also head of the Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is being handled by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
Shen, 68, is a native of Jiangxi province. Before moving to the CPPCC's National Committee in 2018, he had served in different positions, including as executive vice-president of the Supreme People's Court, the country's top court, for 10 years.
