WASHINGTON -- The United States is facing an expanding gap between how much workers earn and how much they have to pay for housing, US daily the Midland Daily News reported Monday.
The report said that as the US workers have faced stagnant wages for the past four decades, the cost of rent has steadily increased, with a spike of 14 percent to 40 percent over the past two years.
"Now, more than ever, workers are feeling the stress of the affordable housing crisis," it noted.
