21 new infections in Nanjing; schools suspended

Nanjing, Jiangsu province, reported 21 positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, all of which were found in the city's Jiangning district, which suspended all kindergartens, elementary schools and middle schools.

Jiangsu reported 20 locally transmitted cases on Monday, of which 15 were found in Changzhou, three in Lianyungang and two in Suzhou.

The province also reported 27 asymptomatic carriers. Of those, nine were in Lianyungang, eight in Suzhou, six in Changzhou, two in Yangzhou and one each in Nanjing and Wuxi.

The province now has 185 locally transmitted and imported cases being treated in designated hospitals.
