Shanghai adds 169 new COVID-19 infections

Shanghai reported a record high 169 new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections on Monday, 128 of whom are asymptomatic.

Health authorities said that the 169 people includes two asymptomatic individuals who later developed symptoms and 122 who tested positive while in quarantine. The rest were identified during testing of people with potential exposure.

The latest COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai started on March 1.
