Hebei province reported 51 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 162 asymptomatic carriers on Sunday in Langfang, Cangzhou and Xingtai, the provincial health commission said on Monday.

As of Sunday, Hebei province had 182 locally transmitted confirmed cases with 247 asymptomatic cases still under medical observation.

Since Monday, Geyucheng town in Langfang's Anci district is listed as a high-risk area, while Taohe village and Taoyuan village are listed as medium-risk areas, according to provincial health authorities.

At present, there are two other medium-risk areas in Hebei province, one in Xingtai and the other in Cangzhou.

On Sunday, several cities in Hebei issued stricter prevention and control measures to prevent the further spread of the epidemic.

Some districts in Langfang have prohibited all vehicles and personnel from entering or leaving, except those necessary for the national economy and people's livelihoods, epidemic prevention and control and emergency rescue.

Langfang People's Hospital suspended outpatient, emergency, fever outpatient and inpatient services, and stopped receiving patients due to COVID-19 prevention measures.
