FM reiterates support for GDI

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday the Global Development Initiative is another clarion call to mobilize global development cooperation, and an endorsement of putting people front and center as a core concept of human rights, he said.

The GDI has drawn up a road map for narrowing the North-South gap and addressing development imbalance, and given a boost to the 2030 Agenda, he added.

Noting good development is sustainable and true development is development for all, Wang said China will work with all parties to implement the GDI step-by-step by forging synergy in priority areas, responding to the needs of all countries, partnering with cooperation mechanisms and reaching out to partners of all sectors.
