5 new local COVID-19 cases reported in Chengdu

Sichuan province reported eight confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, according to the provincial health commission.
Three were imported cases. Two flew from Singapore to Chengdu, the provincial capital, last Wednesday and were confirmed on Monday. One flew from Algeria to Chengdu last Thursday and was confirmed on Monday.
The rest are locally transmitted cases in Chengdu, which now has six medium-risk areas, the commission said.
