China may expand middle-income group by 400 million in 10 to 15 years

"In the next 10 to 15 years if we can expand the middle-income group by another 400 million to reach 800 million people, when compared to a total population of 1.4 billion, we will be closer to the goal of common prosperity for all by 2035," said Yang Weimin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and vice-chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee.
