Beijing places two residential communities in medium-risk category
Two residential communities in Beijing were listed as medium-risk areas on Thursday after the number of COVID-19 cases rose.
Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a news conference that two communities in Fengtai and Fangshan districts were raised to medium-risk areas since more than three confirmed cases were reported in both areas each in the past 14 days.
By Thursday, Beijing had two medium-risk areas in total while the rest of the areas were all low-risk.
Beijing reported five new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases from midnight to 4 pm Thursday and all of them worked in the cold chain industry.
The authority announced on Thursday that all the employees in the cold chain industry should take nucleic acid testings every three days, a shorter time interval of previous every seven days, a measure aimed at tightening the epidemic prevention in the cold chain business.
