What they say: China, Greece promoting common values

Political virtue is a common concern of Chinese and Greek civilizations. The ancient Greek poet Homer regarded virtue as the only sacred thing in the pursuit of political life, and this belief coincided with the classical Chinese sages' teachings on virtuous politics. It is extremely important that today's Chinese scholars understand the thoughts of other civilizations, such as those of Homer's, based on their own civilization and traditions, because it has a bearing on how we can better deepen our knowledge and understanding of the process of how we communicate and learn from other cultures, and then develop a new political civilization discourse.
