Mainland Olympians inspire Macao residents
A delegation of Chinese mainland Olympians finished their three-day visit and left the Macao Special Administrative Region on Tuesday.
The delegation, which included 29 athletes and three coaches from 12 sporting events, was warmly welcomed by local residents in the Macao SAR.
During their stay in the Macao SAR, the athletes attended a series of events, such as a flag-raising ceremony at the Lotus Square on Monday to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, an exchange event with local youth athletes, and interactions with local people.
"I feel very happy to play ping-pong with uncle Ma Long and I also want to be a table tennis player and win gold medals when I grow up," said Ding Xiangyun, a first grade student from Pui Ching Middle School.
