Aesthetic education is necessary for every child, according to the proposals.
To carry out artistic development of Chinese students, the proposals call for efforts to enhance their abilities to experience and enjoy the beautiful things in today's world. It said that basic facilities such as art galleries, museums and culture centers should be built while facilitating students' way to embrace arts education.
They also underlined the need to further reform the system and mechanisms for talent development and better cultivate top and young artists.
To blur the boundary between "high" art and "low" culture, the proposals said arts education should be diversified. Also, focus on individual artistic education should be put.
The proposals were warmly welcomed by participants and online viewers. "Never late to engage in arts education," wrote Li, a college student from Beijing.
