Alumnus donates record $40m to Wuhan University


Huang's donation supports the future development of Wuhan University, said Dou Xiankang, the university's president. "I am proud that Wuhan University has produced alumni with a global perspective like Charlie Huang, and I sincerely appreciate him and the Charlie Huang Foundation for their generous donation."
The money will help the university improve campus conditions, cultivate top innovative talent and enhance research and innovation capabilities as the institution seeks to develop into a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
The donation was formally made at a virtual signing ceremony linking the Wuhan University campus in China with the foundation's headquarters in Pasadena, California, in the United States.
