STOCKHOLM - Sweden's new Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson formally presented her minority cabinet and announced her priorities on Tuesday.

Andersson, who for the second time in less than a week on Monday was approved by Parliament to become Sweden's first female prime minister, identified three areas as particularly important during her term of office that lasts until the general election scheduled for September 2022.

She said she planned to tackle segregation and push back the violent crimes, adding that so far this year the country has registered 290 shooting incidents resulting in 42 fatalities.

She also promised a "green industrial revolution through investments throughout the country," which will reduce emissions while creating new job opportunities.

Andersson also vowed to begin the process of getting a grip on the welfare system to ensure that all workers can enjoy "decent and fair conditions."

"In this way, we can ensure high quality in schools, health care and social care throughout the country," Andersson said, while promising "secure social insurance and pensions."

Andersson also presented over 20 ministers of which nearly half are the same as in the previous government. Mikael Damberg will replace Andersson as finance minister.
