Autumn is golden, and farmers in Xinmin village of Xiaoyi, Shanxi province, are reaping a rich harvest of persimmons.

They are busy gathering the fruit and drying them for snacks. It's an important source of income.

The delicacy, which is popular across the country, has a long history of preparation. Dried persimmons will become sweeter after exposure to the sun for two or three weeks.

The village has around 67 hectares of arable land that is used to grow persimmons, with an annual output of 150 metric tons.
