President Xi Jinping addressed the 16th G20 Leaders' Summit via video link in Beijing on Saturday. Here are some highlights:

On climate change

- Developed countries should lead by example on emissions reduction (Read more)

- In the past ten years, China phased out 120 million kilowatts of installed coal-fired power generation capacity

- China has started construction of the first batch of wind and photovoltaic power stations with a total installed capacity of about 100 million kilowatts

On COVID-19

- China has provided over 1.6 billion doses of vaccines for over 100 countries and international organizations to date

- G20 members should advance mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccines

- Stigmatization of the COVID-19 virus and politicization of origins tracing run counter to the spirit of solidarity against the pandemic (Read more)
