Leading engineering expert Zhang Kun will meet with students at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on Wednesday to discuss the technology innovation behind the nation's top construction projects.

Zhang, chief expert of China State Construction Engineering Corporation and chief engineer of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Corporation, will share his personal experience and insights about some significant projects he participated in.

They include the new headquarters of China Central Television in Beijing, the CITIC Tower - Beijing's highest building with a height of 528 meters, and the Huoshenshan Hospital and the Leishenshan Hospital - two makeshift hospitals in Wuhan, Hubei province, which were built within days to treat COVID-19 patients.

The event is a third lecture, out of four, given by members of a delegation of the nation's top architectural engineering experts, who arrived in the city on Sunday for a six-day visit. Two similar lectures were respectively held at the University of Hong Kong on Monday and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on Tuesday.

Along with the delegation's visit, a six-day exhibition featuring the nation's architectural and construction achievement and history also kicked off on Monday.
