Changchun International Automobile City, in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, is aiming to boost the output of its auto sector to more than 1 trillion yuan ($156 billion) per year.

The auto city is also supporting its homegrown firm China FAW Group's expansion of cooperation. It plans to fully support the company's efforts to achieve production and sales of more than 6 million vehicles in 2025, with an output value of more than 1 trillion yuan.

Full support has been given to the development of service industries such as automobile logistics, automobile finance, and automobile aftermarket, and the introduction of a group of comprehensive enterprises.

The auto city has given full play to the role of the "industry-university-research" innovation alliance to promote the deep integration of the financial chain, innovation chain, and value chain of the automotive industry.

Neighboring cities including Jilin, Siping, Songyuan and Liaoyuan have been promoting the development of auto accessories.

It is estimated that by 2025, both China FAW's annual output value and the industrial scale of the automobile industry cluster in the auto city will exceed 1 trillion yuan.

As of September 2021, there were 80 major projects in Changchun International Automobile City, with a total investment of more than 100 billion yuan. The annual plan is to complete an investment of 18 billion yuan.

Meanwhile, construction work on 78 projects have been started or resumed, with a resumption rate of over 97 percent.
