The 2021 Suzhou Taihu Marathon is set to take place on Nov 7 in Suzhou New District, Jiangsu province, according to organizers at a press conference held on Oct 10.
Officials said that the competition's online registration opened on Sept 28 and will last until Oct 18.
This year's route will highlight the district's natural scenery and strong industrial sectors. It starts from Shishan Road and ends in Suzhou New District Cultural and Sports Center, passing by 4A scenic spots like Shizi Mountain, Baimajian, Dayang Mountain, as well as key industrial incubators like Suzhou financial town, Silk Show Town, and Taihu Science City.
Medals for full and half marathons were also unveiled at the conference. The top three finishers of both full and half marathons will be given medals embroidered on both sides.
Several innovative services were also released at the conference. For instance, participants who received permanent entry slots in 2019 can participate in this year's event without registration.
Participants who registered in the event will receive priority for making a visiting reservation and will be able to visit the newly opened landmark Suzhou Museum West with their personal ID card on Nov 6.
In addition, this year's marathon will include team competitions for both the full marathon and half marathon.
