Xinjiang reports 2 new asymptomatic cases

Two local COVID-19 asymptomatic carriers were reported in Cocodala city, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Wednesday.
The carriers had abnormal test results on Tuesday in a third round of citywide massive nucleic acid testing against the coronavirus in the city and were confirmed positive on Wednesday, according to Xinjiang Daily.
Such citywide testing was carried out in the city after two local asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 were reported in nearby Horgos, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Sunday.
The region on Tuesday reported one local confirmed case of COVID-19, according to local authorities. The patient is the husband of an asymptomatic carrier reported on Sunday in the city of Horgos.
The two new asymptomatic carriers were transferred to a designated hospital for quarantined medical observation. People in close contact with them were also put under quarantined medical observation.
