2 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases reported in Xinjiang

Two new asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers were reported in Horgos, Yili Kazak autonomous prefecture, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, according to Xinjiang Daily on Sunday.
The cases tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday during regular nucleic acid testing and have been placed under quarantine and medical observation in a designated medical facility in Horgos.
The prefecture's COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters immediately issued an emergency response. Currently, 192 close contacts of the carriers have been put under quarantine and medical observation. Epidemiological surveys have been launched.
