Event to promote cybersecurity awareness
The 2021 National Cyber Security Awareness Week will be held between Oct 11 and 17, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission said on Thursday. First launched in 2014, the weeklong campaign is an annual event that promotes national awareness of cybersecurity. During this year's event, a cybersecurity expo and a technology forum will be held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province. During the forum, cybersecurity experts will discuss how to take on the new challenges in cybersecurity, such as automobile data security and personal data protection.
Job aid efforts for disabled people lauded
An International Labor Organization official on Wednesday praised China for adding 1.8 million new jobs for people with disabilities over the past five years. Director of the ILO Country Office for China and Mongolia, Lee Changhee described the progress, together with successfully pulling 7 million people with disabilities out of dire poverty over the same period, as remarkable achievements. Lee made the remarks at a meeting in Beijing, where people with disabilities shared their stories of escaping poverty.
