World's largest indoor ski resort in Shanghai to be capped
Wintastar Shanghai, which is set to be the world's largest indoor ski resort, started the lifting of its roof grid recently, marking another milestone in its construction progress.
According to Liu Zhuping, head of quality of general contracting department of Shanghai Construction Group Corporation, the lifting will be completed by mid-November.
Located in Lingang Special Area of Shanghai, Wintastar Shanghai will be a ski and snow resort that integrates sports, entertainment and leisure. The resort, which will be open throughout the year, is slated to be completed and open by the end of next year.
The resort will feature a 90,000-square-meter alpine-themed indoor ski park with three ski slopes of varying gradients and over 25 attractions. The facility is catered to both professional skiers and amateurs.
Wintastar will also have a Nordic-themed water park, which is currently under construction. The water park will have two levels and provide indoor and outdoor experiences. The hotel within Wintastar will compose of a main two-tower building with over 270 guest rooms and a multi-functional exhibition hall. Rooms come with views of the lush green gardens or the ice and snow world. The hotel will also be completed by the end of 2022.
