One person was killed and four others were injured, one critically, when a bus went out of control in Beijing's Shijingshan district, the city's traffic police said.
A police statement on social media said the bus struck the people near the crossroad of Qixing Dongjie and Lugu Nanlu at around 8:40 am on Friday. Three vehicles were damaged.
A preliminary investigation found that the 38-year-old driver of the bus — assigned to route 472 — was not drunk or on drugs. Further investigation is underway.
