Two senior officials at Eastern Airports, which oversees Lukou International Airport in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, were dismissed from their posts after a group of cabin cleaners tested positive for COVID-19 in July, the provincial government announced Tuesday.
Feng Jun was dismissed as the company's chairman of the board, and Xu Yong was dismissed as general manager, according to the announcement.
The provincial anti-graft body had placed both the officials under investigation on Aug 10.
The Lukou Airport, where clusters of infection were first reported in the latest breakout of COVID-19 on the mainland, resumed operations on Aug 26.
