Three new history books published
Books about the history of the People's Republic of China, reform and opening-up and the development of socialism were published on Monday. The three books cover the more than 70-year history of the PRC, the more than 40-year history of reform and opening-up and the more than 500-year history of the exploration of socialism as traced back to the Utopian visions of the 16th century, in an accurate, profound and concise manner. The brief history of the PRC, with seven chapters and 40 sections, was jointly published by the People's Publishing House and the Contemporary China Publishing House. The brief history of reform and opening-up has seven chapters and 44 sections and was jointly published by the People's Publishing House and the China Social Sciences Press. The brief history of the development of socialism was jointly published by the People's Publishing House and Xuexi Publishing House, and has eight chapters and 39 sections.
SPP orders arrest of former legislator
The Supreme People's Procuratorate has ordered the arrest of Zhang Xinqi, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress, for suspected corruption. Zhang's case was transferred to procuratorial authorities for review and prosecution following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Supervisory Commission, the SPP said on Monday.
All-in-one platforms on COVID-19 protocols
China has launched all-in-one platforms on city-specific COVID-19 containment protocols to help people better adapt to local virus control measures when traveling between cities. People can visit a special column on the website www.gov.cn or the State Council's applet to check for the latest COVID-19 containment protocols in any city. The introduction of the column by the General Office of the State Council is aimed at better coordinating COVID-19 control and economic and social development, and informing enterprises and people of virus control policies, according to authorities.
