Premier congratulates new Malaysian PM

Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday that he looks forward to working with his Malaysian counterpart to further deepen the countries' cooperation in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and boosting development as he sent a message to Ismail Sabri Yaakob congratulating him on becoming Malaysia's new prime minister. Li also called on the two sides to promote pragmatic cooperation in key areas in order to achieve more results and to bring the China-Malaysia comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.

CPC publication on mission, contributions

The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee will release a key publication on the Party's mission and contributions. Titled The CPC: Its Mission and Contributions, it will be released at 10 am on Thursday. A news conference about the publication will also be held.

Former adviser in Liaoning under probe

Xue Heng, former vice-chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, turned himself in and is being investigated for allegedly committing serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, the country's top anti-graft watchdogs said on Monday. Xue, 66, is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission. The watchdogs did not reveal further details about the investigation. According to a resume released by the commissions, Xue was born in Suizhong, a county in Liaoning. He got into politics in 1975 and has spent his entire political career in the province, including serving as Party chief in three cities and as head of the provincial departments of civil affairs and public security.
