Diplomatic staff member tests positive

A diplomatic staff member who arrived from overseas recently has been confirmed as an asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19 in Beijing, the capital's Dongcheng district announced on Monday.
The person undertook a nucleic acid test before admission to hospital in the district at 8:55 am on Sunday, and was transferred to a nearby hotel to await the test results. At 11:20 am, the result came back as positive.
After receiving the result, related departments put emergency plans into operation to have the patient transferred to a designated hospital to undergo investigation and treatment.
All places visited by the patient have been disinfected and their contacts have been tested.
