China Daily reporter Jocelyn Eikenburg has been on a 10-day interview tour to Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
In Kashgar, Jocelyn had a chance to pay a visit to Xiangfei Park, which she said is "like taking a walk back in time." How is so? The park, also known as Abakh Hoja Tomb, is a place where the only Uygur consort of Emperor Qianlong (1711-99) was buried. Jocelyn learned about their legendary love story there and got immersed in the Uygur culture. How did she initiate a dialogue with legendary history in Kashgar?
