Sichuan city goes on flood alert

The city of Dazhou in Sichuan province has introduced a first-class emergency response mechanism as a rainstorm-induced flood is expected to pass Quxian, a county under its administration.
The flood is expected to reach the downtown of Quxian at 9 pm on Sunday. As a countermeasure, Dazhou has suspended the operation of buses and trains passing its territory.
More than 120,000 people have been affected by a rainstorm which started lashing Bazhong, Nanchong, Guangyuan, Ziyang and Chengdu in Sichuan on Friday and 46 million people have been evacuated, according to the Sichuan provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters.
As the aftermath of the rainstorm in the upper reaches of the Qujiang River in Bazhong, rivers in Quxian have swollen.
